What is media literacy?
Media literacy refers to the ability to receive information from the media and then make judgments. With more and more media and more and more various kinds of information, we must make a judgment analysis of the content of the information. There are many ways such as pictures, videos, websites and so on.
Why is it important?
Media literacy is important because media exists everywhere in life. Improving media literacy will make it more convenient to use media. For example, we can get to know each other in new and more interesting ways, and we can get to know people from all over the world. Media literacy also brings more knowledge and resources. If you can judge information, you can get more meaningful content.
Why is it dismissed?
With the increase of media, the content of information gradually increases, making it more convenient to obtain information. But it is impossible for us to figure out what is real and effective and meaningful information, which increases the workload of finding useful information.
Why should you aim for varied views but the factual consensus in your PLN?
Because of the inclusive nature of PLN, anyone can post anything in the media, but bad things will bring wrong guidance and bad influence. PLN can discuss with you so that when you have wrong ideas, you can correct them in time. When consensus is reached, meaningless information will not be disseminated, which helps everyone.
